Sam Roberts at Folk Fest

Well it's Folk Fest time once again on Vancouver Island - time for awesome foods, diverse cultures, and shows. Lots of shows.
Jen and I got together for the July 6th show down at the harbour front, featuring none other than Sam Roberts.
I was a happy, happy girl. :)

All the suckers up on street level who couldn't get tickets for the main stage. Heh.

We took this picture and immediately started to laugh... Jen looks like she's ready to hurt someone, and I look like I'm having the freaking time of my LIFE.

The opening band was Jets Over Head - they're from Victoria and apparently do Folk Fest quite a bit. I'd honestly never heard of them before, but I actually really liked their songs! Think I might look for their album next time I'm at A&B Sound.

Jen and I waiting while the roadies set up.... Then it was time for Sam! Yaaay!
This was my third time seeing Sam Roberts play live, and every time he blows me away. The man has so much energy and stage presence. The crowd was singing along the entire time!

My Verdict: Amazing Show.

Yeah, I really like Jets Overhead. I saw them when they opened for The Stills, and I thought they put on a much better show than the main act and ended up picking up their CD.

I definitely want to get their album. I was so surprised when I heard them play - so good!
