Are You Ready?
Flight date is set! In just about 5 weeks, I'll be landing at Toronto Pearson Airport! I've given my notice at work, and I've even got a few job interviews lined up for when I arrive - interviews for actual co-ordination positions! Keep you fingers crossed!
Leaving Victoria was a difficult decision, and I've got some bitter-sweet feelings about it. But honestly, it feels like the right thing for me to do. I can't start the sort of career I want in Victoria, so going to Toronto just makes sense. I'll be sad to leave the Island, but I can't wait to be home again.

Jenny and Andy's Visit - Mount Douglas

On top of Mount Doug!
But first things first...

We took the "long" way to Mount Douglas, which we were skeptical about, seeing as we were about to go climb a mountain and all... But the long way passed a bunch of blackberry bushes!

I think Andy got a sour one!

Mmm, blackberries!

Don't eat the shiny, plastic ones.

Yay, we made it! Now all that's left to do it... Climb the mountain!

Aaaaand they're off!

Jenny in a tree.... And me.

This tree was huge!

Even reaching, our arms only made it about half way around!

I made them pose.

Hellllooooo Andy! This tree root looks like a dragon! Don't you see it??

Me: "Just go on without me!"
Jen: "Nobody gets left behind!"

The view from halfway...

Keep going! Almost there!

See, I'm *cough*pant* not the LEAST bit tired!
Note to self: GET IN SHAPE

At the top! YAY!

I made them do a "Yay, we're on top of Mount Doug!" dance

Twice!!

Andy pretending he's king of the mountain

I love this picture of Jenny. She was standing there for a little while, just taking in the view.

That climb made us hungry! Good thing we stopped at Sally Bun to get lunch on our way! It was the perfect picnic after our hike!

It was really chilly at the top - I'm sure glad I brought my mitts!
Lindsey knitted these mittens just for me! I love them! Thanks, Linds!!

Jenny's hungry after that 45 minute hike!

My shadow has crazy long legs! Hi shadow!

Jen: "Don't tell me I dropped it at the bottom!"

Me laughing... Apparently something was hilarious, but I don't remember.

But Jenny thought it was funny too!!

It was windy!

Are you cold, Jenny? Maybe we should start our trek down....
Jenny and Andy's Visit - Mount Douglas, Part Deux

So cute - I couldn't resist snapping this shot while they weren't looking!

Jenny and I. I'm so glad I got to show her Victoria!

Where's Jenny? There's Jenny!
And for the record, she's brave as hell! I wouldn't have gone behind that scary, stone wall! Who knows what's back there!!

On our way down the mountain. We took the road, as opposed to the trail.
This is looking up at where we came from.

Hehe. I wanted to make them pose for almost the whole trip! They're so cute, I can't help it!

"Umm... Where did this leaf come from, and why is it stuck to my scarf?"

The trees lining the road are so beautiful!

Halfway up, or halfway down? That's the question!

Jenny shows off her tree-surfing skills.

Okay, I admit it. I go over-board with the "sunlight-through-the-trees" pictures. But they're just so pretty!

I almost died.
The dude who came up with this poster should be very proud of himself.

Me!

Andy climbing on some fallen trees over a stream, trying to get a good shot.

At the bottom, and ready to head home. We were waiting for the bus on "Michelle Place" and yes, I did squeal "Jenny, take my picture!!" when I realized it. Big geek. But I'm okay with it. :)
Check out Jenny's blog for some more pictures of the trip! There are shots of Andy and I, Kung-Fu fighting to the death. I kid you not!

Thanks for coming to visit me, guys! I had an amazing time, and I'm so happy I got to show you my city! Miss you already, but I'll see you again soon!!
