Sombrio Beach - August 2005
Since I can't post any new pictures right now, I thought I'd put up a few older ones. These were taken in August when we went camping on Sombrio Beach. If I live in Victoria for a hundred years, I will never get over the magnificent scenery this province has to offer. It blows me away every time.

This picture looks like it belongs in a calendar at a doctor's office. But I still love it.

This is the only picture I have which shows how massive the rainforest trees are. See how tiny Dave looks compared to them!

Dusk at Sombrio. I have absolutely no words for how beautiful this was. My pictures don't do it justice.

My computer at home has been very tempermental this past week, so no new pictures, I'm afraid. I've been taking quite a few, though, so once I'm back up and running you'll get to see pictures of downtown Victoria and the harbor front. :)

I thought I'd take this opportunity to post a few more pictures of my roomies. Ryan and I tend to bicker and make fun of each other 95% of the time. It's a sibling relationship, which freaking rules. I can act silly and be a smartass like I usually am with Lesley and Laura, and he shoots it right back.

Jello shooters = happy Kyle and Michelle

Ryan breaks it down in our living room rave...

... while Alain classes it up, North Bay style.

I stole the hat!! Huzzah!

Alain's cowboy hat continues to be passed around... (this is my new favourite picture of Bunkis)

Todd and Kyle. They swear they didn't plan this... I don't believe it.
On November 4th, Meghann invited me on a pub crawl for the UVic biology department... which was made up of mostly non-biology people, but we designated ourselves honorary pre-med for the night. The story of Meghann and I is absolutely ridiculous - we're both from Ontario, both went to Nipissing and graduated in the same year. To top it off, we were frosh leaders together for two years in a row. But we had no idea who the other one was until she moved to Victoria to go to UVic, and Alain introduced us. Crazy. Now we're making up for all the fun we would have had together back at Nip. I'm so glad that I've met this girl!

Jenn is one of the many new people I met on the pub crawl. She's awesome, even if she is from New Brunswick.

Anita, Meghann and I at one of the pubs... can't remember the name, but there was a live band. Meghann and Anita have been my famale saviours here in Victoria. With so many boys around all the time, these two always make sure to get me out for a girls night every now and then, and I love them for it. :)

Best picture of the whole night, and I didn't even take it. I have no idea who did. I got back to the table and there were tons of new pictures on my camera. This is Fritz. Have to say, this German boy is absolutely hilarious. Kept me laughing all night.

We couldn't decide what to dress up as for Hallowe'en this year, but ideas had been floating around all month. Finally, on the night before the Hallowe'en Party, we decided on Roadkill Zombies. Left to right we are: Alain, Kyle, Todd, Me and Ryan. Ryan and I thought it would be a fabulous idea to continue the tire marks from our clothes to our skin... didn't think it was such a great idea three days later when it finally all came off.

Richard does his impression of the Hulk. "Getting run over by a car MAKES ME MAD!"

Our Hallowe'en hosts for the evening: Cara as Cleopatra, and her husband Jordan as the Angel of Death.
This is my house! This picture was taken in July, so just imagine that it's raining and the tree is completely bare. That's what it looks like now. It's a pretty good place. The neighbors to the right are jerks, but there are a lot of fun kids who live close by, who are always good for a laugh. Just thought I'd post a picture so you can see where my rump is resting these days!

To get an idea of how far it is from Newmarket, Ontario to Victoria, B.C., I've thrown together a little map to illustrate the move I made. It's a complicated map, I know. What can I say - I'm detail oriented.
Since I came to British Columbia I've been promising to send pictures to pretty much everyone I know. So instead of mailing and e-mailing a trillion photographs to all of you, I figured setting up a photo blog might be a little easier on all of us. And so, here it is, for your viewing pleasure.
